Howdy Ya'll!

I'm here in the state of Texas in the heart of San Antonio and loving it! Today is the first time I'm been on the internet in a while so I'm happy to be posting something new! I arrived at SAT airport on the 12th at around 2:20pm and was happily met by my husband carrying roses and wearing his dress blues! We were overjoyed to see each other!!! As one could imagine over two months of being apart can make the heart grown even fonder than it was before! Johnny got to see my growing belly for the first time and he was overjoyed to be with his family once again! Johnny also got to feel our daughter kick for the first time that night!!! It was a very exciting moment for us!
Our last time seeing each other was at his boot camp graduation day. That visit was short winded because he had to fly out to Texas the very next day.
On our first day we really enjoyed our time together and savored every moment, driving around in the new rental car, getting lost, finding our hotel, and enjoyed a night on the town in San Antonio's downtown district. It was lovely and being in my husband's arms again was obviously wonderful!  We ate at this Brazilian BBQ place called Fogo de Chao that Johnny has been wanting to take me to for quite some time now. It was DELICIOUS!!!! There was just SO MUCH FOOD and so little room to put it all but we tried our very best and I think we did a pretty good job! We finished it off with a complimentary dessert of Papaya Cream which helped our stomachs settle from the overload!
Then we took a stroll down the San Antonio River Walk and tried to catch up on as much as possible. So far my trip has been absolutely wonderful and I've only been here for 4 days! Thank you to everyone for praying for my trip and traveling mercies for me and Rayah!

Baby Shower Baby Shower!

Today is the day to shower our baby! I'm really looking forward to celebrating the soon approaching arrival of our baby girl. I thank God for my wonderful family and friends. We're having the shower pretty early compared to most, but I feel it's one of the best times for me right now to have this shower all before the holidays come and go. I'll write all about Rayah's shower right after the party. I wish Johnny could be here today! He wishes he could be here today too. We're in the last stretch of being apart, and soon we'll be together again, and it will be wonderful to be reunited.

Hooray for Medical Insurance!

I've been meaning to write about this for the last couple of days! It's not super exciting but something that I've been working out since the day Johnny left for boot camp, so it is such a relief to have it worked out now! All I've got to say is that I am so grateful for the medical insurance provided by the Navy. Going without insurance for some years now, and now being pregnant has made me profoundly thankful to God for the good health I've had and have. I spent one day to sort out some confusing paperwork, took the somewhat "infamous" glucose test (that actually wasn't too bad), and settle some medical insurance papers. All in all, I can't complain. Although it was tiring just finding parking at the hospital that day, it was well worth it!

Today was a nice day with some dear friends Marlon and Celeste and my cousin Brian who helped me move some things into our storage unit. I am no longer able to lift heavy things, so they helped me this morning and now thanks to them, my room is much clearer. Afterwards, we had a lovely Korean meal together. Let's see if they have their accountability group tonight at their house, and if Marlon will make that peach cobbler he was raving about. I look forward to seeing our dear friends again sometime soon...possibly tonight. I know Johnny wishes he could be with his boys in Bible study tonight, but that will have to wait for a while.

Changes in the Wind

Today I'm feeling very optimistic about our move to San Diego. We're still not totally informed about the details, but I think that's a normal thing for the military. I'm also really looking forward to my trip to San Antonio to go see my husband! It will be so much fun and so nice to be together for Thanksgiving! Thank you to my cousin Frankie for putting me up in San Antonio Texas! Let's get cooking! I'm really craving some Thanksgiving dinner right about now. Big surprise that the pregnant woman is looking forward to a huge feast!

Johnny and I are really hoping that we can see his family in Houston as well. I'm not sure how far San Antonio and Houston are from each other, but we will try our best to meet up with them. Special shout our to our family is TEJAS! I will be out there for about 4 weeks, and Johnny should be done with A-school in early December. WAHOO!!!!! YEAH!!!! I am so proud of Johnny and so thankful to God for the new changes ahead!

Change of Plans!

BIG NEWS! This morning's text brought a huge change of plans for us. Johnny let me know in a 7 am (9am his time) text that we are heading to San Diego!!! I am one excited Navy wife! It looks like we won't be having a Texan baby after all. I was really looking forward to the San Antonio experience, but as we all know, plans can really change in an instance.  I'm waiting for a phone call from Johnny with all the details (hopefully soon). I am confident that Johnny has made a good decision for our family and boy oh boy will our family and friends be so excited about us being so close! I'll write more as soon as I find out more I promise.

New Beginnings

Today is 1 out of 16 days I have left to be in my dear state of California. At least for a while, Texas will be my home and the state in which our baby will be born into. It's hard to imagine leaving and starting off anew while being 24 weeks pregnant now, and 26 weeks by the time I get there. Time has flown by and I've had a wonderful support group here while my husband is in A-school for the US Navy. I CANNOT wait to see him again so we can be together for the third trimester fast approaching. It's time to be together once again. Huge thanks to the Chapman family and Grandma LeVasseur for being so wonderful and welcoming! Johnny and I love you all so much and can't say thank you enough.
